Hotels??????Q) Why is it that in searches for hotels, you have to have adults to be able to enter kids, but ive stayed in a hotel room without any adults in that room . How do you know if the hotel allows that?
Also, I know hotels will let you use cots so you can all stay in on room, whats the limit of people to a room?
A) I've worked in hotels for seven years and I'm pretty sure most are the same. You are legally supposed to have an adult in a room. Some hotels the age to get a room is 18, others it's 21. I know sometimes parents will get a seperate room for the kids. That's fine as long as they're not trouble. The reason you have to enter in a number of adults (besides what I just said) is just because that's how hotel computer systems are set up.
As far as the limit to the number of people in a room, you have to ask the individual hotel that. There are fire codes that come into play and it all depends on the size of the room. What hotels are good to stay in in vegas?Q) I'm going to be going to Vegas for my 21st birthday in a year (generic i know) and i was wondering what are some good hotels on the strip that are affordable but clean? I have read about the Flamingo and wanted to know if anyone has stayed there and has any comments about their stay? Anybody have any other suggestions as to what hotels may be good? Thanks a bunch!
Sorry GSpin I accidently gave a thumbs down rating to your answer, I meant to do a thumbs up lol! Yours was the best answer, thanks
A) Hi,
I have nothing but good things to say about The Flamingo. It is by far my favorite hotel on Las Vegas for Overall Value. Anyway here's a review I wrote about it on Yelp.com
I'll start off with the bad first: we came in early around noon, and were told to come back around 3 pm to get our keys. We came back at 3 pm, they said come back at 4 pm cus the room wasn't ready. That's okay cus technically check-in time is 4 pm. Came back at 4 pm and was told the room wouldn't be ready for 30-45 minutes....we asked for a manager. Our room was ready in 10 minutes, and he gave us a $30 coupon to use at the bar or gift shop. So that's decently fair.
Anyway Flamingo's location is quite possibly the best on the strip. Right smack dab in the middle, what more could you ask for? The distance from room to elevator to the strip was real short unlike so many other casinos where it's an absolute chore to get from your room to the strip or vice versa. And I like how when you walk out of the casino..you're right on the sidewalk...there's no long ass escalator/path you have to take to get to the sidewalk. I mean wow.
We also liked the rooms considering we got the upgrade Go! Rooms that are newly remodeled, and look nothing like the outside of the casino (which is starting to show it's age pretty badly). The beds were big, clean, and comfy. Huge ass 42" LCD TV, a TV in the bathroom mirror, a separate shower and tub. The shower also had some body jets which was nice. No problems with the water temp. or pressure. I'm used to staying in standard rooms or Vegas or even sh*t holes like Tropicana...this was anything but that.
Service: I didn't like how they couldn't guarantee my dry cleaning would get to me in the 6-8 pm slot that it said on the bag, but it did arrive on time. The cleaning ladies did a decent job, and didn't steal anything so that's also good. And when we called for our bags, extra glasses, and hangers..they were quickly brought up (very quickly)..that's good.
Casino: The theme is losing it's touch, but it's still decently nice inside. It's not Bellagio, it's not O'Sheas either. Drinks take a little while to get to you, but I think I was up a couple hundred in this casino, and my buddy won $2,000 w/the lucky lady jackpot on the blackjack table...plus they had $5 and $10 tables during busy times..that works for me.
Pool: Really nice, I came a little late so no staff or bar was to be found...but I'm sure in the hotter days it'd be excellent.
View: my two rooms had amazing views. One had a good view of the pool, and the other had amazing view of the Bellagio fountains.
Price: I originally booked the Go! rooms directly through Flamingo for $590 each plus tax for Friday & sat night. Then I cancelled and rebooked them for $610...why you may ask. Because I found a cheaper rate of $540 on Orbitz. Due to their Best Rate Guarantee..they not only matched the cheaper rate, but they dropped it 25%. Our rooms now were a little under $400 for the weekend per room. Sounds like a great deal to me.
Overall: Other a few slight quirks here and there. I can't give Flamingo any less than 5 stars. I'm sure it'd be different if we paid more and/or were stuck with a standard room. But considering of our group we paid $100 each for the room here, compared to the $70 each at Tropicana or $90 each for Bally's. I definitely will say Flamingo was well-worth the little extra money for the room quality and strip location. I'd highly recommend Flamingo's Go! Rooms to anyone who wants a great value on the strip.

p.s. Other suggestions: Ballys for the same price range. also affordable, great locaiton, clean. Stay away from Tropicana it's garbage.

I checked with the on-site hotels, you have to be 21 to rent a room. Some off site hotels also require you to be 21. I finally found a not so nice budget motel but the reviews were horrible. Then I had to call and call and finally found the Comfort Inn Universal Studios Area. I called them and the man told me you have to be 18, So I booked the room. I'm 20 right now. But how come some require 21 and some 18?
A) I do not know the hotels of which you speak, but on average, a hotel with a bar increases minimum age to meet the drinking age. What hotels near Yankee Stadium would you recommend for a low-moderate budget?Q) Planning a trip to Yankee Stadium next year that I am trying to get a jump start on planning for. I just want to know what hotels in the area others would recommend. I dont want to spend too much, but im not strapped for cash.
A) you could stay in jersey. either ft lee or in weehawken. if you stay in weehawken get a place near the ferry and take the ferry to the game. What are the differences of hotels before and hotels nowadays?Q) Hey! I just wanna know what kind of services hotels back then offered that hotels these days still do offer or stuffs that old hotels used to serve and are now considered as obsolete services by new hotels, it could also be that only a few hotels are still offering those stuffs or they still have it but in a different way...Any answer would really help thank you.
has anybody tried staying in one of Paris' hotels?
what was it like?XD
A) Besides the Bible, hotels today offer Internet service or state-of-the-art technology which old hotels didn't have. Other security such as key-card room, 24-hour CCTV security surveillance system, international Direct Dial (IDD) telephone through optic-fibre cable.
I never understood why they even have Bible in the hotel because if people want to have affairs, they'd be too busy doing something else rather than look for the bible :-)
Other services such as spa & fitness-center, beauty salon and several shops, baby sitter on request, recent release movie pay channels, large screen plasma televisions, Wedding/Meeting/Banquets, concierge service that older hotels may not have. How do hotels and restaurants keep their dishes so clean?Q) How do hotels and restaurants keep their dishes so clean? I heard from someone that they use bleach or something similar?
A) there is bleachlike solid in the dishtank but they have commercial dishtanks that reach very high temps. They also have solution that they soak dishes in when they begin to stain. You can add a cap full of bleach to your dishwater and it will help to remove the stains. Most places don't allow bleach anymore because of the risks of mixing chemicals. I just add bleach to my dishwasher usually a cup and it helps. How do hotels maintain such crisp linen? I just purchased some sateen sheets and the instructions said to ironQ) and I thought, "HA!" Well I pulled them out of the dryer and they are an awful mess. I've never ironed sheets before. These are king sized sheets and my attempt at ironing proved time consuming and ackward due to the size of the sheets. I used starch too but I can't imagine doing this every week. Does anyone have any tips and I guess hotels really do pay someone to IRON all of those sheets?! How do you keep your sheets dewrinkled and beautiful?
A) Hotels, or their linnen services, have very large presses instead of irons and can iron a sheet flat in two shots. The easiest method I can recomend is to hang your linnens instead of tumble drying. Takes more time, but much easier to get the few remaining wrinkles out.Can somebody tell me whether these hotels are in a good area in San Francisco?Q) Hello,
I am planning to spend a few days in San Francisco, but I cannot decide which of these two hotels I should take and whether they are in a safe/ good area of San Francisco or not.
Is the Adante Hotel in a safe area of San Francisco?
It is located in 610 Geary Street.
The other hotel is called La Luna Inn and it is located in 2599 Lombard Steet. Is a cable car station close to that hotel and ore the main sights good reachable from that hotel?
It would be nice if somebody who have stayed in one these hotel could tell me whether it is a good/ nice hotel and whether it is recommendable. Thanks!
A) La Luna is pretty far away from everything, except it's walking distance to the Presidio and Palace of Fine Arts (and easy driving access to the Golden Gate Bridge). You'd have to take a bus to connect with a cable car. It's a pretty safe area of town, but busy traffic-wise.
Adante is in an OK part of town. Just stay east and north of the area. Easy access to public transportation (many Geary buses) and you're just a few blocks away from cable car access at Union Square. Will Disneyland Hotels bring your Souvenirs you buy in the park back to your room?Q) I had read somewhere, doing research for a family vacation, that Disneyland Resort hotels (Disneyland hotel, Paradise Pier or the Grand Californian) will allow you to buy souvenirs in the park and they will put them in your hotel room for you. Is this still true? Has the option changed? Any information to support this claim would be greatly appreciated.
A) yes. the last time i was there which was november, you could. we stayed at the grand californian and it was really nice not having to carry everything around. have fun at d.land (:Are there any hotels outside NYC that have a free shuttle to the city?Q) We are planning a weekend trip to NYC and I see that there is a huge price difference in staying in the city and out of the city (duh!). Do any of the hotels near the airports offer a free shuttle into the city or do we have to take a cab? I need recommendations on where to stay. We may be coming up via Amtrack, but we haven't decided yet.
A) check in the Poconos now that they have casinos they might offer serviceTable './infoservice/infoservice' is marked as crashed and should be repaired
